Thurs June 5th 2014
The threatened rain and thunderstorms turned out to be a few sprinkles, so no delays for the Giants on this one. The rubber match Thurs promises clear, sunny skies. We will really appreciate a “Laugher” win for a change so our nails can resume their normal growth. The 3-2 come from behind win was just another “usual” outing of which there have been many. Vogi deserved his win, and we were rooting for him to have his 1st 10K game. The 9 was close and a new record for him. We are sure Bumgardner will clinch the series, and we have planned a late departure. We will arrive home at midnight. We left time in case of rain or extra shenanigans.
And now for the ladies view- The seats were great. Section 119 EE seats 8,9. We had to dodge the showers just prior to the game, but other than that the game was a thriller. At the beginning of the season I chose Perez as the player who could make a difference, and we are 1/3 of the way thru the season, and he hadn’t shown what I expected, until last night. He is quick and if I were to choose an animal title for him it would be the road runner. Speaking of animals, last night began with an entry of animals from the Cincinnati zoo including a porcupine, a nocturnal primate, and an eagle flying in from the outfield

We were approached by an MLB photographer who wanted a photo of Bert’s cap.

We spoke with Reds fans who were welcoming and shared tips on ice cream in Cincinnati. We also ran into Jasmine, a fellow Giants fan we saw in St. Louis

The weather was iffy the entire game.

I don’t know why we haven’t eatten much stadium food at Great American, but yesterday we split a reuben at 3 at the hotel and were to full for dinner. We had some mini cupcakes from the market at the stadium. They had a good selection of healthy eats including humus, wraps, and also not so healthy but delicious looking cookies, cannoli, and the mini cupcakes. Hope to have room to eat at stadium today.

We got an email from Heather from LA, and I will say for me the fans we are meeting along the way are what have made this the most memorable of my lifetime.

There was lots to share, but we have a game in a couple of hours, so need to sign off. We want you to know that we really appreciate all the comments on the blog, and thanks for being part of 81for93
Until,
Bert and Le Anne
