It was a tight fast game with both starting pitchers going 8 innings (Peavy 1 man short), and both throwing a hundred pitches. Poseys 4th inning solo homer provided the difference for a Giant win period. Romo got the 1 man he was asked to face for the 3rd out in the 8th. Casilla closed the game with a 1-2-3 ninth. If they do as well today, the Giants will take the series, and perhaps come in to the final 2 weeks as a real threat to take the division.
And now for the ladies view- we wandered by TGI Fridays and decided it was fate, so we chose to go in for dinner. We began with a mojito for me and a Pinot Grigio for Bert. I had a New York Burger and Bert had the California Club. After missing lunch we were grateful for the hardy portions.
I forgot my phone so didn’t have anyones info with me…no tweets, texts, or photos the entire game. We met Tim, a Giants fan from AZ who wanted a photo with us, and lucky for me he sent it to me. Loran, a Giants fan from Ohio met up with us at our seats. She is going to be at the remaining games(except not all Dodgers games), and drove all the way from Ohio, hoping to be part of something special.
Bochy actually called this one the way I would have, including letting Peavy stay in a bit longer than he should have. I watched the score on the Dodgers game hoping the Rockies wouldn’t give up the lead. We had two things to celebrate last night; a GIANTS win and a dodgers loss. We are back to within 3 games! I am hoping we can gain some ground so that the Dodgers series isn’t as important. GO GIANTS!
The Internet at the Clarendon is spotty and I can’t get any more photos up, so will add them in when we get to the Omni in San Diego.
